Once i had a plan.

A picnic for two.

I thought of when- where- and how.

All the things that we could do.

"To pull this off" I thought to me, 

"What do i need to know?"

Your favourite things, including food, 

And where you'd like to go.

So i planned this picnic everyday

It took over a year, 

To learn each detail of your heart, 

To finally get you here.

Now my special day has come, 

And there's nothing left to lose.

The food was warm and here you sat

On the spot that i did choose.

Under a sky of pure perfection, 

You said, "Love, you did prepare for all"

And then suddenly, out of the blue

The rain began to fall.

The news had said "No chance of rain"

"It will be a lovely day"

But the rain was storming down on us, 

Oh, what a cruel joke to play!

Reluctantly, we walked through the rain

Towards the shelter of a tree.

But the branches were not enough for two

And could only shelter me.

So you stood aside in the pouring rain

Watching the sadness on my face

And it broke your heart, like it was your fault

So i tried to take your place. 

What could i do as we both stood there

In the rain, and our dismay

I suggested it was time to go, 

"We have no reason left to stay".

I turned to leave as you stared, distraught,

A tear for each step i made.

I glanced at you more than once or twice, 

Praying for this pain to fade.

The rain had ruined my perfect arrangement:

At least i had the chance to say

"I love you and i'll miss you"

Finding the Harmony

{5-minute post}

Ya. so this will be real quick.

In the quest for happiness and purpose in life, 

You gotta find the harmony.

What this means, 

-real quick-

Is maintaining your originality, 

Whilst taking in from your surroundings.

It's very important you be your own self, to try not to emulate another person no matter how attractive their personality is to you. I'm tempted to throw in a cliche quote here: when you try to be someone else, the best you can be is second best!  However, at the same time, you have to be wise enough to pick here and there admirable qualities - virtues, there's the right word for you - that will holistically add to this person you're becoming. I think its not stressed enough out there that most of the virtues we aspire to - integrity, determination, discipline, compassion - are acquired. This means one makes a concerted effort to be ambitious, to be disciplined, to be optimistic. 

I guess its also the old argument of some leaders being born, some being made.

Anyways, real quick-

The answer lies in finding the balance and the harmony, 

Work towards what you are trying to become, however 

Don't in the process lose focus of who you are.

And the way to do it is, it has to come from you.

The Independent Woman

You know this talk about independent women being unhappy in love? I was thinking about it last nite, tryna figure it out. And i came up with an answer that i think solves the whole problem.

Ok. So you have this  fine looking lady, successful, confident, ambitious. She lives in a mansion she bought with her own money, drives a dream car she financed herself. She pays her own bills, buys her own jewelry, and is living the life that you want to live. But the thing is, date after date she finds that men are jerks. "Really, have we reached the post-monogamous society already?" she wonders.

The reason behind so many womens' misfortunes in love is: when women become successful, that success supposedly also buys them a pair of balls, such that they think or feel that they do not need a man. Yes, they want one (who doesn't), but they do not need one.

Umm. no. That's not how it works.

Let's draw from Aristotle a minute when he says man is a political animal. That can be translated into modern day language to mean: man is a creature that was naturally meant for constant association with other men. It is unnatural for us to be alone, hence our need, not just want, for another person.

We have evolved much from Adam and Eve, but the tenets of our humanity remain largely unchanged. For me, the answer is, no matter how successful you are as a woman, you will never reach a complete natural state if you do not share your life with someone. You need a man in your life.

The need I'm talking about here is not the neurotic one where you just cannot seem to function without a man. Life does not come to a standstill because there is no better half to share it with. This is the reason why the successful women are successful in the first place, before there is a man in the picture. And this, ladies, this is the woman that men love to love.

Yes you can change your own tyre and get your own cheque at the restaurant, there is no doubt about that. But chivalry still calls for a man to take care of your needs. A woman's pride or womanliness is not put into question because she let someone else do something for her that she is perfectly capable of doing herself.

Women and men are equal, but I believe that the roles we play in society are different. Until men can give birth, women and men will never have the same responsibilities. Yes, men can stay at home whilst mommy brings in the dough, but don't you want someone to get the door for you once in a while? Just because?

In conclusion: it's alright to have it all as a woman. Be ambitious, work hard, live fully, but don't let that delude you into thinking your independence has liberated you from something you're naturally predisposed to, the love of a man.

J'ai toujours souhaiter d'avoir un sens de fille, comme ces-dessus. Mais mon âme avait toujours trop impatient pour la calme d'une dame. Une fille sait des grâces et se compose en parte. Son style de s'habiller, se marcher, d'être est raffinée et cultivée du bienséance.


Alors, on est toujours sur le sujet du glamour. Une des commentaires a remarquée qu'on ne peut pas devenir glamorous sans avait atteint l'amour et la confiance de soi-même, la grâce et la force.


Pour moi, le glamour c'est avoir rien doute de vous même; c'est comprendre que personne ne parfait, mais surtout c'est la beauté qui part d'une âme et un cœur contente de son état.
